News Releases > Automakers Have Seen The 'Green' Light Publisher of Green Car Journal Says Automakers Have Seen The 'Green' Light...LOS ANGELES -- (AP) -- December 1, 2006 -- Plenty of gas guzzlers are still available at the nation's auto dealers, but at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the buzz is about clean-and-green. A variety of alternative-fuel vehicles are on display, though critics worry that automakers are just blowing smoke. But Ron Cogan, editor-publisher of Green Car Journal, believes the manufacturers have seen the green light. He says the public's concern over Gas Prices, air quality and even national security have created a market for greener cars. Cogan says automakers, the federal and state governments and component suppliers are pouring (b) billions of dollars into the technology. Cogan says companies that first marketed the cleaner engines have created a "green glow" around themselves, and other automakers want to catch up. Back | |
